We are looking for highly motivated and fresh graduates to join our team in Karachi as a Management Trainee Veterinary Doctor, positioning them for future leadership in our production and quality assurance departments. The Role: MT Veterinary Doctor The Management Trainee (MT) Veterinary Doctor position is a contract-based, entry-level role designed for ambitious fresh graduates of Veterinary Medicine. This role provides intensive, hands-on training across all critical stages of the meat processing value chain, with a primary focus on ensuring animal welfare, health, and strict adherence to food safety, Halal, and quality control protocols. The MT will be stationed at the FML Plant-site in Karachi. Key Responsibilities The MT Veterinary Doctor will be responsible for critical inspection duties and documentation management in both the Ante Mortem and Post Mortem sections, ensuring all processes meet FML's high standards. I. Ante Mortem Inspection and Lairage Management: Animal Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of all incoming live animals (Sheep, Goat, Cattle, Buffalo) upon receiving at the plant. Selection Criteria: Select or reject animals based on established Body Mass Index (BMI) criteria and overall health status. Lairage Activities: Manage all lairage activities, including supervising feeding, watering, and continuous health checks of animals prior to slaughter. Reporting: Maintain accurate daily Ante-Mortem reports and share them promptly with relevant stakeholders. Traceability: Ensure proper tagging, traceability, and log sheet maintenance for all animals in the lairage area. Emergency Decisions: Make informed emergency slaughter decisions when required, based on established protocols and animal welfare standards. II. Post Mortem Inspection and Quality Assurance: Detailed Inspection: Conduct detailed Post-Mortem inspections of all beef and mutton components, including the head, organs, and carcass, to identify and flag any pathological conditions. Reporting: Maintain detailed daily Post-Mortem reports and share them with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Quality Assurance, Export Team). Compliance: Actively participate in the implementation of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), general safety, and Halal processes to ensure proper procedure implementation throughout the production line. Hygiene: Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and sanitation is maintained in all inspection areas. III. Learning & Development: Actively engage in all training modules provided under the Management Trainee program. Work collaboratively with senior Veterinary Doctors and Production Managers to develop a comprehensive understanding of plant operations and regulatory requirements. Qualifications & Experience Qualification: Must hold a DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicines) degree from a recognized institution. Experience: Experience Fresh is required; this role is specifically designed for recent graduates. Job Type: Contractual. Vacancies: Two (2) positions are available.
