Job Description

Lauren Grant, an Assistant Professor of Environmental and Public Health, has announced three PhD openings for January 2026. The research will focus on climate change, rabies prevention and control, and the Arctic. The successful candidates will join the Grant and Di Francesco research groups to help establish community-led rabies co-management in the Beaufort Delta region of the Northwest Territories. The program particularly encourages applicants who are Indigenous, have experience working with Indigenous communities in Northern Canada, and/or hold a DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) degree. Applications are being accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged. This is a collaborative project involving multiple institutions, including the University of Guelph and the Université de Montréal, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a critical health and environmental issue in a significant region.
