Vetronic SAV04 Small Animal Ventilator

Safe, straightforward, pressure-cycled ventilation designed for small domestic animals weighing up to 12kg. The SAV04 features numerous enhancements for better control of IPPV. This model is an upgraded version of the well-established SAV03 ventilator and continues to utilize the same core principles of easy, pressure-cycled ventilation. During the redesign of the ventilator, new features were added to enhance patient management and provide improved feedback on ventilation status. For instance, an automatic over-pressure alarm will activate if the target pressure exceeds 8cm. Additionally, there is an alarm that alerts if the patient becomes disconnected from the ventilator or if no back-pressure is detected during the inhalation phase. These alarms are meant to be helpful and come with explanatory text displayed on the main screen. Moreover, an audible beep will sound with each successful breath. Both the breath beep and alarm sounds can be muted individually if necessary. The ventilator is equipped with a new valve design that offers two significant advantages. Firstly, the valve can be automatically calibrated on any other SAV04 unit, making it easy to swap or replace valves. Secondly, the enlarged exit port orifice allows for larger animals to be accommodated. The 12mm diameter exit orifice now ensures unrestricted expiration in animals weighing up to 40kg. It is important to note that the operational principle still centers around a T-piece, thus requiring proportionately higher fresh gas flow rates. However, with the introduction of oxygen generators, operating this system on 8-10L is practical for short-term or emergency scenarios. The updated display now conveys more information to the user. A central rising bar graph indicates the pressure in the patient's airway, facilitating quick assessments of system or ET tube leaks. Each inhalation phase is now tracked and displayed on the screen, along with the measured respiratory rate.
