With the EHEIM biopower, you have access to a high-performance internal filter that is truly innovative. It features a fully rotatable pump head, modular design, and additional functionalities derived from the aquaball concept. What sets the biopower apart is its multilayer filtration system, similar to that of an external filter. The enclosed filter baskets are filled with highly efficient filter media (such as SUBSTRATpro). Located at the bottom is the inlet basket, which contains a filter cartridge for mechanical-biological prefiltration. Water is drawn in from the bottom and pumped upwards through various filter layers, returning to the aquarium after filtration. There are three models available for aquariums ranging from 80 to 240 liters. The aquaball concept employs external filter technology and multi-layer filtration, which means that water is pumped from the bottom to the top through several filter layers before it is returned to the tank. The closed filter baskets come prefilled with EHEIM SUBSTRATpro, although other filter media can also be utilized. The inlet basket incorporates a filter cartridge for mechanical-biological prefiltration, while a filter pad in the pump head holder provides an extra layer of filtration. You can adjust the filter volume as needed by adding or removing filter modules (filter baskets). To extend the filter's capabilities, consider the ExtensionSET2. The filter baskets are designed for easy assembly and disassembly, thanks to the Easy-Klick Locking System. The modular design allows for cleaning of filter cartridges or media at varying intervals, helping to maintain beneficial bacteria cultures. The ball-shaped pump head sits in a ball socket, allowing it to be rotated freely. This flexibility means that the outflow of filtered water can be directed in any desired direction. The pump output and flow rate can be adjusted using the control knob located on the outflow nozzle. The power-diffuser can be modified to regulate air intake, enhancing oxygen levels in the aquarium.
