For smaller amounts, be aware that each cap thread is roughly 1mL. Expert The beginner dosage increases nitrogen by the same amount as 1 mg/L nitrate would. This dosage is adequate to facilitate approximately 4g of dry growth or around 20g (when hydrated) over the course of a month (assuming all other essential nutrients are supplied). For enhanced growth, use a proportionately larger amount. To achieve a specific nitrogen increase, follow this formula: 0.25vn=m, where v= tank volume in gallons, n=desired nitrogen increase (if using a "nitrate equivalent" value for "n", utilize a factor of 0.05 instead of 0.25 in the formula) and m=amount of product to apply in mL.
