ParaGuard is the sole fish and filter safe aldehyde-based (10% by weight) solution for controlling parasites in fish. Unlike the highly toxic and challenging formalin-based treatments, ParaGuard is free from formaldehyde and methanol and will not disrupt pH levels. KEY FEATURES: Effectively eliminates ectoparasites along with fungal, bacterial, and viral infections Safer to administer compared to formaldehyde, formalin, and methanol Does not negatively impact bio-filter DIRECTIONS: Dosing Remove all invertebrates from the aquarium as well as any chemical filtration. Administer 5mL (1 capful) of ParaGuard for every 40L (10 US gallons). Repeat this dosage daily as needed, provided the fish do not exhibit signs of stress. ParaGuard can also be utilized as a medicated dip. For a 1-hour dip, use 3mL per 4 L (1 US gallon) in a container separate from your main tank. Dips can be prolonged if the fish exhibit no signs of stress. Remember, many diseases can persist in the water as well as on the fish. A dip treatment is ineffective if the fish are returned to infected water immediately after. Quarantine This involves setting up a tank to monitor and treat new fish before introducing them to the main aquarium. ParaGuard is gentle enough to use preventively (even without visible symptoms) if necessary. Quarantine durations can vary, but we typically suggest a treatment period of 2 weeks with ParaGuard to eliminate any potential external infections. Sensitive Fish Certain fish are more susceptible to medications than others. Eels, loaches, rays, sharks, and many others are recognized for their sensitivity to various treatments. If you think your fish might be sensitive to medications, it’s perfectly fine to begin with a reduced dose and gradually increase to the full dosage over several days.Expires on 15 May 2031
