Metabolase

Metabolase is a metabolic, detoxifying, antioxidant and tonic preparation that carries out a broad-scale action on the biochemical processes of the organism, regulating protein, carbohydrate and lipid metabolism and reactivating hepatocyte and muscle cells. It contains l-carnitine, B-group vitamins, amino acids and sugars. L-carnitine is essential for carrying fatty acids into the mitochondria, where they are burned and used as a source of energy. It activates lipid metabolism, reduces the formation of ketone bodies and prevents fat infiltration of the liver. Thioctic or lipoic acid is a metabolic antioxidant, extremely active against oxidative stress. It is the only antioxidant able to act both in aqueous and lipidic phase, chelate metals and restore supplies of vitamin E, vitamin C and reduced glutathione. It also plays a key role in the metabolism of fats. Vitamin B6 and B12, the action of which takes place at essential stages of the intermediate metabolism, have metabolic stimulating and lipotropic activities. Some amino acids are included in the product as they are precursors of coenzymes and/or substrates necessary for enzyme reactions: methionine is a lipotropic and hepatoprotectant agent; l-ornithine, l-arginine, l-citrulline favour hepatic synthesis of urea and reduce the toxic effects of ammonia; l-lysine is a l-carnitine precursor; glycine, aspartic acid and glutamic acid have nephro- and hepato-detoxifying activity. Fast-acting fructose and long-acting sorbitol are also included for their gluconeogenic, energizing and antiketotic activities. INDICATIONS Metabolase is indicated for all animal species in particular as a detoxifying agent in states of physical stress or convalescence.
