Dalmarelin Injection 10 ml

PROPERTIES Dalmarelin is an injectable solution containing lecirelin, a synthetic analogue of the hypothalamic polypeptide GnRH. As GnRH, lecirelin binds to specific trans-membrane receptors in the gonadotrophic cells of the anterior pituitary and initiates a cascade of intracellular events that culminate in the synthesis and secretion of FSH and LH. The difference between lecirelin and GnRH consists in the substitution of glycine in position 6 with the amino acid d-tert-leucine, and in the substitution of glycine in position 10 with an ethylamide group. This structural changes increase affinity for hypophyseal receptors with resulting increases in LH and FSH plasma levels for a period of up to 240 minutes, as opposed to the 90 minutes of the naturally occurring hormone. Lecirelin is highly potent but does not down-regulate GnRH receptors and can be repeatedly injected without problems. INDICATIONS Cows: treatment and prevention of follicular ovarian cysts; induction of cycling in anestrous cows or cows exhibiting irregular or prolonged cycles; short or silent heat; repeat breeders; ovulation synchronization programs in heifers and cows; fertility enhancement.
