Prefilter The Aquael ULTRAMAX filters feature a capacious 1.5-liter pre-filter built into the lid of the unit. Cleaning the pre-filter is straightforward; simply lift the lid, remove the sponge from the basket, and rinse it under running water. This process does not require removing the unit from the cabinet, making maintenance both simple and efficient. Double Ball Valve System The ULTRAMAX filters are equipped with a patented double ball valve system, which addresses a common issue faced by aquarists—the spillage of water when disconnecting the inlet and outlet hoses. This innovative system simultaneously closes the filter inlet and outlet as well as the hoses, preventing any uncontrolled escape of water and minimizing mess during maintenance. Self-Priming System Starting the filter is hassle-free with the self-priming system. You only need to make 2 to 4 movements with the piston to flood the filter with aquarium water.
